About Jacob Wood

I work with organizations that want to grow in ways that make room for everyone. Using a systems lens, I help teams see what’s getting in the way and shape environments that support learning and leadership at every level. My focus is on clarity, alignment, and building conditions that last.

My perspective comes from lived experience. Losing my sight as a teenager changed how I understood systems, equity, and human potential. It taught me to pay attention to the ways people are supported, or held back, by the environments around them. That insight became the foundation of my philosophy: Growth for ALL.

Over the years, I’ve developed that philosophy into a practical framework leaders can use to strengthen their culture, deepen their capability, and build more inclusive systems. I focus on helping organizations understand what’s getting in their way, develop leaders who can navigate complexity, and create structures that continue to evolve long after I’m gone.

My work is about giving teams the clarity and confidence to grow on purpose.

Accessibility

Throughout my career, I’ve seen how access shapes people’s ability to learn, contribute, and lead. I’ve navigated higher education systems that weren’t built with disabled students in mind. I’ve worked under managers who didn’t have the curiosity to understand what access really meant. And I’ve watched talented people get sidelined simply because the environment around them wasn’t designed for them to participate fully.

Those experiences changed how I understand accessibility. They showed me that it’s not just a set of guidelines or technical requirements — it’s opportunity.

It’s the difference between someone being able to grow in their role or being quietly pushed out of it. It’s the difference between a team that thrives and a team that struggles to include the people it already has.

That’s why I focus on accessibility as an organizational capability. I help teams see how access influences learning, shapes culture, and determines who gets to lead. When organizations strengthen their accessibility maturity, they’re not just improving compliance — they’re tapping into the full potential of their people.

Accessibility is the starting point for growth. When more people can participate fully, everyone benefits.

Learning

I’ve taken an unusual path through education.

I’m a four-time drop-out who’s now completing an advanced degree. That journey wasn't about a lack of ability; it was a crash course in how rigid systems exclude capable people. It taught me that learning is often the harder choice, but it is the only path to innovation.

That’s why I focus on learning as a capability — something teams can strengthen over time. I help organizations build environments where people have the tools, access, and leadership support to develop the skills they need for the challenges they can see and the ones they can’t yet name. When learning becomes part of the culture, teams stop reacting and start growing on purpose.

Learning is how organizations access their untapped potential. When people have the opportunity to learn, they gain the capacity to solve problems, adapt to change, and lead with confidence.

Leadership

Leadership, for me, has never been about titles. It’s about creating the conditions where people can grow, contribute, and feel confident in their work. I’ve seen how much leadership shapes access and learning — not through big gestures, but through everyday choices that either open doors or quietly close them.

I wasn’t always someone who felt ready to lead. I used to call myself a “raging introvert” — shy, self‑conscious, and convinced leadership was for other people. That changed when a servant leader saw potential in me long before I saw it in myself. They gave me room to grow, and it changed the trajectory of my life.

That experience taught me to look for the leader in everyone. To never write someone off because of their ability, their personality, or their visibility. Leadership potential isn’t always loud, but it’s always there.

I help organizations build the clarity, curiosity, and consistency that allow leaders to emerge. That includes strengthening communication, setting shared expectations, and creating environments where people feel safe to learn and empowered to lead.

Leadership is how organizations sustain growth. When leaders invest in their people and model accessibility and learning, they finally tap their latent potential.

Growth for ALL

Growth doesn’t happen by accident. It happens when organizations commit to access, invest in learning, and develop leaders who understand the impact of their choices. These three capabilities form the core of my work and the heart of my philosophy: Growth for ALL.

My career reflects that commitment. I’ve spent more than a decade working across accessibility, learning design, and leadership development — building systems, guiding teams, and helping organizations mature their capabilities. Each role has strengthened my understanding of how people grow and how organizations evolve.

Here’s a look at the experience that shapes my work.

Credentials

My career spans over a decade of navigating complex systems in higher education, non-profits, and enterprise learning. I bridge the gap between technical execution and strategic vision.

Enterprise Impact

At Hive Learning, I led content design initiatives that delivered over 20,000 courses to global organizations like Barclays and Sunlife, achieving an industry-leading NPS of +85.

Strategic Development

I have scoped and researched full learning sprints, introduced new operating models for hybrid work, and led cross-functional accessibility squads.

Academic Foundation

I hold a Bachelor’s in Management and Organizational Leadership and am currently completing a Master’s focused on change management and ethical leadership.

Across every role, my focus has remained the same: helping organizations grow on purpose by strengthening the capabilities that allow people to learn, contribute, and lead.

Let’s Connect

If your organization is ready to mature its accessibility, learning, or leadership practices but doesn’t have a large internal team to drive that work, let’s connect. I help organizations strengthen their systems, develop their people, and build the capabilities that support long‑term success.
